Tourism min. calls for coping with modern trends of world tourism

Tourism Minister Rania el Mashat on Friday called for keeping pace with modern trends of world tourism, citing that the tourism ministry’s structural program includes this key axis, which focuses on supporting and empowering women, as well as encouraging young people to contribute to developing the tourism sector, through suggesting innovative and digital solutions.

She made the remarks during her speech at the opening of the Arab World Social Innovation Forum (AWSIF), hosted by Ashoka Arab World.

The event is expected to witness the launching of a women initiative by Ashoka in the field of social entrepreneurship, in cooperation with the American University in Cairo.

In her remarks, the minister hailed the importance of the AWSIF in reviewing the most successful experiments of some states in the tourism sector, as well as seeking innovative solutions to domestic problems.

Also, El Mashat touched on a regional forum for technological innovation in tourism, slated for March 24-25 in Cairo.

She shed light on the tourism ministry’s vision to achieve a sustainable tourism development, in line with the UN sustainable development goals, reviewing axes of the structural reform program that aims at promoting the image of Egypt’s tourism.
