SUDANESE DEFENCE MINISTER HOLDS TALKS WITH VISITING EGUPTIAN CHIEF OF STAFF

khartoum– Sudan’s Minister of Defence, Lieutenant-General Awad Mohamed Ahmed bin Oaf, received in his office here Tuesday the visiting Egyptian Armed Forces Chief of Staff, General Mohamed Fareed Hijazi, and affirmed the importance of strengthening relations between the armed forces of the two countries in all fields.

He also asserted the importance of establishing direct contacts between the leaders of the two countries to confront common security threats and challenges, stressing that the national security of Sudan and Egypt is inseparable.

Gen. Hijazi also affirmed the importance of co-operation between the armed forces of the two countries, adding that the two sides are sharing identical views in a strategic vision for the benefit of the both countries.

Also present the meeting were Sudan’s Chief of Joint Staff, Lt-Gen Dr. Kama Abdul-Maarouf, and the Commander of Joint Operations, Gen Hashim Abdul-Muttalab.

The Egyptian Chief of Staff is visiting Sudan to participate in meetings of the joint Sudanese-Egyptian Military Committee, which began on Sunday at the level of experts and concluded Tuesday at the level of the Chiefs of Staff.
