Sobhi: EOC probes resumption of sporting activities

The board of the Egyptian Olympic Committee (EOC) has discussed the medical plan of the body’s medical committee on the resumption of sporting activities amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The board held a meeting on Wednesday 20/5/2020 in the presence of Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi and head of the EOC’s medical committee Hassan Kamal.

They considered the general aspects of the resumption of the sporting activities and the possible medical preventive measures that could be adopted on this score.

The plan is part of preparations taken for gradual resumption of sporting activities as of mid June under the prime minister’s directives.

The EOC board has decided to contact the respective federations on their plans for the coming 12 months.

Sobhi said the ministry currently works on setting a comprehensive medical plan to deal with all possible scenarios with the adoption of all precautionary measures to counter the coronavirus spread.
