Sisi stresses profound relations with Uganda

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi hailed on Thursday 29/8/2019 the vital role of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni as one of Africa’s wise leaderships.

President Sisi praised Museveni’s efforts to step up security and stability in Africa, asserting the strength of historic relations binding the two countries as well as Egypt’s eagerness to boost bilateral relations at all levels.

This came during talks held between Sisi and Museveni on the sidelines of the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD-VII), currently taking place in the Japanese city of Yokohama.

The Ugandan president, for his part, affirmed the depth of relations with Egypt, saying his country is looking forward to promoting mutual cooperation with Egypt in all fields, especially in light of Egypt’s regional pivotal role, said Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady.

Museveni praised the contributions of Egyptian companies to the development process in his country and expressed appreciation for technical support offered by Egypt to his country in honing skills of the Ugandan people throughout the past years, the spokesman added.

The two sides took up the latest developments in the continent alongside countering terrorism efforts.

They welcomed close point of views regarding various political files as well as consensus on the importance of boosting integration among African countries, Rady added.
