Sisi, Kuwaiti Emir urge Arab concerted efforts to preserve national security

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Monday 25/2/2019 with Kuwaiti Emir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the sidelines of the Arab League-European Union Summit, concluded earlier in the day in Sharm El Sheikh.

Presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said Sisi hailed the deeply-rooted relations binding Egypt and Kuwait.

The president stressed need of continuing to build on the momentum of bilateral cooperation in various fields, as well as pushing forward mechanisms of mutual consultation and coordination on all issues and developments in the Arab region, he added.

In turn, Sheikh Sabah hailed the distinguished and fraternal relations between the two countries, reaffirming his country’s firm stance in support of Egypt’s security and stability.

He also appreciated efforts exerted by the Egyptian leadership on the Arab arena for promoting the path of solidarity and joint Arab action and consolidating regional and international peace and security.

The meeting also tackled latest regional developments and issues of common concern, the presidential spokesman said.

The two leaders stressed the need for concerted Arab efforts in addressing various challenges for preserving national security, he added.

They also called for regional solutions for regional problems; allowing the Arab peoples to determine their own destiny in a way that meets their aspirations to live in peace and security, Rady concluded.
