Sisi hails African constitutional courts in protecting African citizens

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has hailed the pivotal role played by the supreme constitutional courts in Africa in activating judicial protection for African citizens and protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens.

During a meeting here on Tuesday 19/2/2019 with heads of the African constitutional courts, the president said the Egyptian constitutional court enjoys good experience and well-established traditions as it succeeded in overcoming many challenges during the past years, said presidential spokesman Bassam Rady.

The president said that Egypt is interested in magnifying cooperation with all African brethren in all fields including judicial cooperation, said the spokesman, adding the president of the supreme constitutional court counselor Hanafi Gebali appreciated President Sisi’s keenness on supporting all recommendations issued by African supreme constitutional courts conference in Cairo as well as cooperation among all African judicial authorities.

According to the spokesman, president Sisi highlighted the concept of the will and popular awareness to enforce the role of law and judiciary to enable the African continent to overcome common challenges including terrorism and extremism.
