Sisi directs to improve water resources, quality

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has urged for continued efforts to improve water quality and develop and optimize the use of available water resources.

Sisi on Monday 6/5/2019 held a meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker and Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Ati.

The president asserted at the meeting the need for the full implementation of a national strategy for water based on quality improvement, rationalization, development of systems to exchange information and raise awareness about water.

The meeting expounded irrigation and water resources-related issues, including preparations for Nile floods, as well as the maintenance of the High Dam and Aswan Reservoir, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

Sisi also directed to meet the needs of current major development projects of electricity, in addition to continuing efforts of carrying out of electricity interconnections regionally and internationally, Rady added.
