Sisi awards U-19 handball team first class sports medals

President Abdel Fatah El Sisi praised Egypt’s U-19 handball team’s global achievement of winning the World Championship title for the first time after defeating Germany 32-28 in the final in Macedonia.

According to a statement issued by presidency spokesperson Bassam Rady, Sisi granted the team first class sports medals on Tuesday. Prime Minster Mostafa Madbouly attended the meeting.

Sisi said that the handball team strengthened Egypt’s position in the international sports arena, adding that the team represents a “role model” for the rest of their generation.

Sisi directed providing all the necessary requirements for Egyptian handball teams of all ages to fully support them to make achievements and prepare them for the upcoming World Championship to be hosted by Egypt in 2021.
