Sisi asserts Egypt’s firm stand on need to adopt holistic int’l approach to address root causes of migration, refugee phenomena

President Abdel Fatah El Sisi asserted Egypt’s firm stand on the necessity of adopting a holistic international approach to address the root causes of the growing illegal migration and refugee phenomena.

This came at a meeting with President of the United Nations General Assembly Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garces at the Ittihadiya Palace.

Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said that the UN General Assembly chairperson lauded Egypt’s crucial role as a main pillar of peace and stability in the Middle East.

She expressed keenness on reaching a political settlement to all crises in the region, lauding Egypt’s effective participation in the different UN and international gatherings.

She also extolled Egypt’s efforts to defend issues related to African and developing countries, particularly in light of its current presidency of the African Union.
