Saudi, Egyptian media to hold joint periodical meetings

Egyptian and Saudi journalists called for holding periodical meetings to promote media cooperation and lay down a media strategy for facing the various kinds of challenges besetting the Arab world.

During a meeting late Sunday on the fringe of the Arab-European summit in Sharm El Sheikh, the conferees underlined the importance of enhancing media cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, especially to spread awareness among people in the face of extremist thought.

Chairman of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation Makram Mohamed Ahmed and Saudi Media Minister Turki al Shabanah moderated the session.

Ahmed said the Egyptian-Saudi solidarity is pivotal for regional stability and security.

He called for Egypt’s hosting of a conference for Egyptian and Saudi media persons in order to promote cooperation and confront rumors that are meant to harm the developing ties between the two countries.

Al Shabana said he seeks to enhance joint media action to realize more successes that serve the Arab world.
