Salah el Din Citadel to switch off lights on Earth Hour

The Ministry of Antiquities will partake on Saturday in the “Earth Hour” by turning off lights at Salah el Din Citadel from 8:30pm to 9:30pm.

The event contributes to rationalizing the use of energy via turning turning off unnecessary lights to face global warming phenomenon, the ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

The event targets: saving energy; raising awareness of global warming; and engaging people in positive action for environmental protection, through turning off lights and non-essential electronics during one specific hour agreed upon within the context of the campaign.
