CAIRO, Dec 28– Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi acclaimed Saturday the efforts exerted by the Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to mend inter-GCC fences as well as his mediation between Egypt and Qatar.

During his reception of Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker and Head of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) Marzouq Al-Ghanim, Al-Sisi appreciated His Highness the Amir’s contributions to the strengthening of the Arab unity.

The meeting tackled various means to bolster bilateral relations, the Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Alaa Yousef said in a press release.

The Kuwaiti top lawmaker conveyed to President Al-Sisi the greetings of the Amir and the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the spokesman said.

Al-Sisi expressed pleasure to visit Kuwait to thank its top leadership and people on their supportive stance with Egypt.

He said he is looking forward to strong Kuwaiti participation in the international economic conference to be held at the Egyptian resort of Sharm El-Sheikh next March.

He affirmed his government keenness on creating investment attractive environment and urged Kuwaiti investors to benefit from the investment opportunities in Egypt.

Al-Sisi welcomed the AIPU participation in monitoring the upcoming Egyptian parliamentary elections, Yousef added.

For his part, Al-Ghanim underlined Kuwait’s eagerness to effectively contribute to Egypt’s international economic conference.
