Prime Mostafa Madbouli reiterated Egypt’s commitment to reaching an unprecedented level of cooperation with Sudan.

The premier had delivered an address following the signing of a landmark deal between the Transitional Military Council and the Forces of Freedom and Change alliance to pave the way for civilian rule in Sudan.

Madbouli conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the Sudanese side on the signing of the constitutional document.

Sudan is on the verge of a new phase in its history, Madbouli said, highlighting the sacrifices offered by the Sudanese people to ensure stability, prosperity and social co-existence among all segments of the Sudanese society.

Madbouli further stressed Egypt’s constant support for the Sudanese people, laying an emphasis on the unique ties binding both countries at all levels.

He also underlined the need to capitalize on the natural and human resources in both Nile Basin countries for a brighter future, which is based on mutual cooperation and coordination on various issues of mutual concern.

Earlier on Saturday, Madbouli arrived in Khartoum to participate on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the current chairman of the African Union, in the inking ceremony of the constitutional document for a transitional period in Sudan.
