PM: Lagarde’s statements about Egypt’s economy of great positive impact

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli welcomed statements by Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde on Egypt’s economy, saying that they reflect the appreciation of the international economic institution of the government’s economic reform measures and assert that it is on the right track.

During a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday 30/1/2019, the Prime Minister noted that there is a growing demand by world companies and institutions for investing in Egypt due to the success of its economic reforms and development process.

Lagarde’s remarks are indeed having a positive international impact, he said.

He pointed out to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi keenness on developing industries and manufacturing electric cars locally.

The prime minister reviewed during the meeting the outcome of his recent visit to Switzerland to attend Davos economic forum and the appreciation the Egyptian delegation received during the economic gathering thanks to the country’s successful economic reform program.

On the foreign relations file, Madbouli praised the outcome of French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent visit to Egypt which witnessed the signing of joint agreements in many areas to push forward bilateral relations and an economic investment forum to attract more French investments into Egypt.

During the meeting, the prime minister praised the sacrifices of policemen and army personnel to protect the homeland.

For his part, Minister of Education Tarek Shawky said he discussed with Apple officials in Davos how to enhance cooperation and integrate technology into the new educational system and how to make use of technical devices and electronic educational applications created by Apple.

Minister of Agriculture Ezzeddin Abu Steit reviewed the outcome of his recent visit to Zambia and his meeting with Zambian President Edgar Lungu in Lusaka to discuss cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of agriculture and fish farming.
