PM: Egypt seeks enhanced cooperation with Lebanon

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said that Egypt is keen on cooperating with Lebanon in all fields.

Preparations are underway for joint committee meetings, which Mabdouli believes would be a good chance to further boost bilateral cooperation in the coming stage.

In a meeting with visiting Lebanese Communications Minister Mohamed Shuqair on Sunday 3/3/2019, Madbouli accepted an invitation by his Lebanese counterpart Saad Hariri to visit Lebanon soon and attend the joint committee meetings.

The Premier said he is keen on visiting Lebanon soon.

Attending the meeting was Investment Minister Sahar Nasr, who said Cairo is seeking to increase investments with Beirut, including joint businesses in Africa.

She added that about 1,645 Lebanese companies are doing business in Egypt worth 670 million dollars.

Shuqair, for his part, greatly appreciated efforts exerted by Egypt to entrench stability in the region.

He praised Egyptian achievements in terms of infrastructure and national projects that contributed to positive growth rates and reduced unemployment rates.
