Pakistan’s first lady lauds Egypt’s support of people with special needs

Pakistan’s First Lady Samina Alvi has lauded Egypt’s experience in protecting the rights of people with special needs and legislation issued in this regard.

Alvi made the remarks during her meeting with Heba Hagras, a member of the National Council for Women (NCW) and Rapporteur of the Committee on Women with Disabilities.

It was held on the sidelines of a session of international consultation on Global Report on Effective Access to Assistive Technologies held in WHO Headquarters in Geneva.

For her part, Hagras reviewed the NCW’s expertise in the integration of women with disabilities into the council’s organizational structure.

She added that the NCW defends issues of women with disabilities at all levels, including reducing working hours for women and girls with disabilities by one hour and cutting taxes on economic institutions that hire women and girls with disabilities.
