Minister: Development projects contributed to curbing illegal immigration in Egypt

Minister of Immigration and Egyptians’ Affairs Abroad Nabila Makram said that mammoth development projects as well as small and medium-sized projects largely contributed to curbing illegal immigration in Egypt.

In an interview with MENA in Beirut, she said the state is exerting strenuous efforts to put an end to the illegal immigration phenomenon and boost development within the framework of the sustainable development plan “Egypt Vision 2030”.

She added that the 5th “Egypt Can Conference” will be held in Sharm el Sheikh in July to review Egypt’s investment map.

She noted that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is keen on investing in human capital.

Makram said preparations are under way for the conference in collaboration with Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr, noting that the conference will offer a great chance for reviewing investment opportunities for Egyptians abroad.

Makram stressed keenness on keeping in touch with Egyptian expatriates to post them on the facilities offered by Egypt for direct and indirect investments.
