MCIT Partakes in Egypt Competitiveness Forum

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) will participate in Egypt Competitiveness Forum, scheduled to be held as a high level round table under the auspices of the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU), on March 29, in Cairo.

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser ElKady will take part in the forum. Ministers of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Education, Health and Agriculture will participate in the Forum as well. The Forum agenda cover topics related to the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation, education, workforce development, energy, infrastructure, health and agriculture.

The Forum follows on the results of the round table on investment, held during the visit of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to New York, last September, in the presence of the US ambassador to Egypt Stephen Beecroft. The meeting was to open a dialogue between government officials and investors on how to address key issues affecting the competitiveness of the Egyptian market.

The Forum will bring together influential figures from the private sector to discuss investment attraction and strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and the US.

The Forum will review three key questions: how Egypt can continue to lead the Middle East region given its strategic location and solid entrepreneurship and innovation, future enhancement of the business environment to make Egypt more competitive and how stakeholders can cooperate to achieve these goals.
