LAHAY Applied Sciences University, with the cooperation of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), presented an honorary doctorate degree for President of GCTP, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan, in appreciation of his efforts in the field of Tolerance and Peace.

This came during a high end honorary ceremony in the Peace Hall at the headquarters of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Holland, attended by scores of accredited ambassadors to Holland, and Presidents of educational, religious, cultural and tolerance-and-peace related institutions from around the world.

Al-Jarwan was granted the Doctorate degree in appreciation of his efforts in spreading the culture of tolerance and peace around the world, and of his main contribution in establishing and launching GCTP and its International Parliament (IPTP).

HE Saeed Ali Yousef Alnowais, Ambassador of the UAE to the Hague, Netherlands, HE Abdelouahab Bellouki, the Moroccan ambassador to the Netherlands and the Dean of the Arab Ambassador, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Abohaimed, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Hague, Netherlands, and HE Amgad Abdel Ghafar, Ambassador of Egypt to The Hague, Netherlands attended the ceremony.

He also thanked the audience for their appreciation and their presence, underlining “the importance of the symbolism of the place where the ceremony is being held, in the Peace Hall at the headquarters of the International Court of Justice in the Hague, Holland.”

Al-Jarwan said: “Today, I am being presented with this great honor, knowing that it’s for the sake of many sincere efforts that shared my path and my message of tolerance and peace, not for me as a person. I mention among them my colleagues in the Constituent Assembly of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, which was launched in Malta last year, and held me responsible for launching this international program, and continue to provide advice, assistance and guidance on my long journey.

The same for my colleagues and brothers in the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, which was an ambition and a dream, and has become today a reality. Deputies from forty-five countries in the world have joined it, to be men of tolerance, peace and giving.

I would also like to mention the hardworking group of colleagues who have worked with me and still are, to achieve these great goals.

But the greatest appreciation, that I cannot fail to mention on this occasion, is the wise leadership of the United Arab Emirates, which I live on its free and pure land, the country that launched the first special ministry for tolerance in the world and succeeded in transforming the common life of different sects, religions and races in the land of UAE, from two hundred nationalities in the world, to an oasis of stability and peace, protected by laws of insight and consciousness, that reflect the vision of the founder Sheikh Zayed, may God have mercy on him.”

D. Khaled Al Aasar, President of LAHAYE Applied Sciences University, said in a speech on this occasion that it is a great honor to present to HE Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan an honorary doctorate degree for his efforts recognized by all, and which made a qualitative shift in the efforts of tolerance and peace around the world.

Al Aasar also praised the role of GCTP and IPTP, and their international accomplishments in mobilizing international efforts to spread and instill the principles of tolerance and peace around the world.

As for Ambassador Abdelouahab Bellouki, the Moroccan Ambassador to the Hague, Netherlands, and Dean of the Arab Ambassadors, addressed the Ambassadors’ speech on this occasion, thanking LAHAYE Applied Sciences University for this generous initiative, which dedicates the support of tolerance and peace around the world.

He also praised the prominent role lead by Al-Jarwan in the field of tolerance and peace around the world, indicating that “wise orientations and policies are not strange to the State of the United Arab Emirates and its citizens. Everyone recognizes their leadership in the field of tolerance and peace on an international level.”

Bellouki referred to “GCTP, its International Parliament, and their leading role in the field of tolerance, as an international platform for spreading the values of tolerance and supporting the efforts of international peace.”

The former Egyptian Minister, Dr. Moufid Chehab, member of the Constituent Assembly of GCTP pronounced the speech of the GCTP on this occasion, thanking the LAHAYE University for this good initiative, and thanking the ambassadors and the audience.

Chehab praised “the role of Al-Jarwan as the founder and President of the GCTP, and his efforts which resulted into the launching of this global institution, which was able, within a short period of time, to make great international accomplishments, represented in the relations of different countries and political, religious, educational, cultural and social leaderships around the world, in the aim of unifying the efforts to raise the values of tolerance and peace.” He also reiterated “the big role of the IPTP aimed towards collecting parliamentary efforts in the field of tolerance and peace, under the umbrella of an international platform, aimed to instilling and cultivating peace around the world.”
