Jordanian king meets Arab FMs on regional issues developments

Jordanian King Abdullah II met on Wednesday with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, along with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait to discuss the latest regional developments.

The meeting, attended by Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, was held ahead of a consultative meeting, set to be held on Thursday in the Dead Sea region, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said in a statement.

The talks touched on regional developments and matters of common interest, with the conferees stressing the importance of fostering prospects of solidarity and mechanisms of joint Arab action in the face of all challenges encountered by the Arab region.

The spokesman added that the conferees discussed the Palestinian cause and efforts aimed at achieving comprehensive and just peace based on the two-state solution and supporting the Palestinians’ legitimate rights, topped by establishing an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.
