Immigration ministry activates hotline for New Zealand terror attack

Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram said the ministry is still following up the consequences of the terrorist attack that targeted two mosques in New Zealand’s city of Christchurch during Friday prayers.

Makram added there is full coordination with Egyptian Ambassador to New Zealand Tarek el Wassimy, the ministry said in a statement Saturday 16/03/2019.

A hotline service has been activated and the Egyptian embassy is in round-the-clock contact with a specialized team in Christchurch city.

The ministry noted that New Zealand’s police are currently identifying the victims.

The New Zealand government announced in a statement Saturday that it is ready to move the victims’ bodies to their home countries, the statement added.
