Hariri sends cable to Sisi condemning Sinai attack

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri sent a cable to the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi condemning the terrorist attack against an Egyptian Army checkpoint in Sinai that killed 12 soldiers.

This is the text of the letter:

“We were pained by the heinous terrorist attack that targeted recently the Egyptian Army in the Sinai region and killed several soldiers while they were carrying out their duties in preserving security, stability and national sovereignty.

We strongly deplore and condemn this dreadful attack and all the other attacks against the Egyptian army, which are inseparable from the blind terrorism which is targeting several countries in the region and the world.

We express our solidarity with Egypt, its leadership, government and people in these difficult circumstances, and we are fully confident in your wise and courageous leadership in facing this dangerous and destructive plague targeting Egypt’s security and stability.

In these difficult circumstances, I convey my sympathy to the families of the soldiers who fell in this terrorist attack. I offer my heartfelt condolences to you and to the Egyptian people, in my personal name and in the name of the “Future Movement” and pray God to preserve Egypt from all evil or danger.”
