FM stresses importance of EAPD development efforts in Africa

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry stressed on Sunday 12/5/2019 the important role played by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) to support development efforts in Africa.

The minister made his remark during a meeting with the agency’s board of directors. Shoukry further asserted Egypt’s keenness to push forward comprehensive development at the African level.

He emphasized the necessity of furthering the agency’s activities across the continent in light of the needs and priorities of the African nations receiving the agency’s aid, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Hafez said in a statement.

Shoukry also highlighted the need for further cooperation among the agency’s partners and trainees to make the utmost use of the agency’s courses.

The meeting took up means of promoting the EAPD development efforts in the African nations, as well as supporting the agency’s overall activities such as establishing medical clinics and providing capacity-building training courses in various fields, including agriculture, healthcare, infrastructure and financial reform.

The Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development was established on July 1, 2014 after merging The Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with Africa” and The Egyptian Fund for Technical cooperation with the countries of Commonwealth and Islamic countries and the Newly Independent states in a new entity.
