FA: Clubs agree to cancel league

The Egyptian Football Association has reported on its website that the Premier League clubs have agreed to cancel the league this season due to the current political situation. Mohamed Morsy has been ousted and the armed forces appointed Adly Mansour interim president, which led to clashes between supporters and opponents of Morsy, leaving scores of people dead and wounded in the past few weeks.

The League had resumed in February after a hiatus lasting one year following the Port Said Stadium violence in 2012, in which 72 fans of Ahly Club were killed.
