Environment minister expounds Egypt’s vision on climate change in New York session

Environment Minister Yassmin Fouad stressed on Thursday that Egypt has merged mechanisms used in mitigating climate change effects into its irrigation and water resources plans.

The minister, during a UN session on water and climate change in New York, underlined the importance of the civil society’s role in changing the language of dialogue on climate change and water rationalization in order to reach to citizens and interact more with them.

Changes facing world states are numerous in light of limited financial resources and the need to lay down applicable ambitious plans to put an end to the hazardous effects of climate change but without undermining peoples’ right to sustainable development, the minister said as quoted by a press release by the Environment Ministry here.
