EGYPT’S ANNUAL URBAN CONSUMER PRICE INFLATION EASES TO 13.5 PERCENT IN JULY

CAIRO, Egypt- Egypt’s annual urban consumer price inflation, fell to 13.5 percent in July, from 14.4 percent in Jun, the official statistics agency, CAPMAS, said, on Thursday.

Egypt has hiked fuel, electricity and transportation prices, over the past two months, to help meet the terms of an Egyptian 12-billion-pound IMF loan programme, it signed in the late 2016, that includes deep cuts to energy subsidies and tax hikes.
