Egyptian, Russian FMs mull relations, regional issues

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov discussed the bilateral ties in phone talks on Monday 21/1/2019.

They focused on how to strengthen and develop cooperation at all levels, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Hafez said in a statement.

They also discussed the latest regional developments, especially the Syrian crisis and ways to push forward a political solution to overcome the current deadlock and to preserve the unity and sovereignty of the Syrian state.

Shoukry and Lavrov also mulled the latest of the Palestinian cause, affirming support for efforts seeking a comprehensive and just peace based on a two-state solution, as a cornerstone for peace and stability in the entire region.
