EGYPTIAN MARKET APPROVES PARAGUAYAN BEEF IMPORTS

ASUNCION, March 24 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — Paraguayan beef has Egypt as a new market now , after the veterinary service department of that country approved the import of that product.

At least 10 local fridge-freezer plants have been told of the decision, where the animals are slaughtered, processed and stored after inspection by technicians of the country in February in order to resume imports after four years.

La Nacion daily reports the providers’ expectation to export a high amount of beef to Egypt, with which it will be able to compete directly with Brazil, which is the main beef exporter.

The Paraguayan Chamber of Meats, quoted the daily, considers the Egyptian market very interesting, and about 3000 tons of meat can be exported to that country monthly.

The daily report recalled that in the first two months of this year, Paraguay exported 36028 tons of beef meat to 35 different markets, valued at $136 million USD, according to National Service of Animal Quality and Health.
