EGYPTIAN COURT UPHOLDS DEATH SENTENCE FOR 20 BROTHERHOOD MEMBERS

CAIRO, Egypt, Sept 30 – The Minya Criminal Court upheld its previous ruling that sentenced 20 members of the Muslim Brotherhood to death, for killing Mostafa al-Attar, the Matai village sheriff’s deputy, and for storming and burning the police station, after the dispersal of the Rabaa sit-in last year.

The court was convening on Monday, to consider a retrial of 161 defendants, including 10 suspects in absentia, and decided to postpone hearing 151 defendants, to the last week of Jan next year.-
