Egypt: UNGA Chief – UN Committed to Support Egypt, Other Countries to Overcome Challenges

President of the United Nations General Assembly Mogens Lykketoft asserted that the UN is committed to support Egypt and other countries to overcome development challenges.

At a press conference in Cairo on Saturday 28/5/2016, he added that the UN is also committed to support Egypt in restoring security and stability as well as combating terrorism.

He said he was honored to meet with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and that he offered the president his condolences over the victims of an EgyptAir plane that crashed into the Mediterranean two weeks ago.

During the meeting, they reviewed the latest developments in Egypt and the Arab region.
