Egypt: Sisi Renews Support for Tunisia Following Terrorist Attack

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi phoned on Monday 7/3/2016 his Tunisian counterpart Beji Caid Essebsi to offer condolences over the casualties of a terrorist attack on military and security facilities in Ben Guerdane city.

Sisi asserted Egypt’s condemnation of the heinous act, praising the response of Tunisian security troops to the attack.

He offered condolences to the families of the victims.

There is no backtrack in combating terrorism, the president said, stressing that Cairo stands by the Tunisian people in face of terrorism.

For his part, the Tunisian leader thanked Sisi for expressing solidarity with his country. The stance shows how deeply-rooted are the ties between Tunisia and Egypt, said the Tunisian president.

Today’s attack will boost the Tunisian people’s insistence on continuing counter-terror efforts, according to the Tunisian president.
