EGYPT OPENS RAFAH CROSSING FOR SECOND DAY IN A ROW

Egyptian authorities Sunday opened the Rafah crossing on the border with the Gaza Strip for the second consecutive day to allow travel for humanitarian emergencies and the return home of Palestinians stuck on the Egyptian side of the frontier.

The Rafah post on Gaza’s southern border, is the only lifeline and access point for Gazans as Israel maintains a blockade on the coastal enclave for years.

Egypt reopens the crossing for a few days for as many Gazans as possible to cross, with large numbers registered with the Gaza interior ministry for travel.
