EGYPT, NORWAY TO CO-HOST CONF. ON GAZA RECONSTRUCTION NEXT MONTH

CAIRO, Sept 8– Deputy Palestinian Prime Minister Ziad Abu Amr said that Egypt and Norway would co-host an international donors’ conference to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip on October 10.

In a press statement Sunday evening, Abu Amr said that there are ongoing contacts among all parties to take guarantees that Israeli government would not impede plans of donors to reconstruct Gaza by preventing entrance of building materials into the Strip.

He stressed that Israel seeks to set conditions and control mechanisms that lead to impede international attempts toward the reconstruction process.

Abu Amr pointed out that Palestinian government and political parties seek to relieve sufferings of people in the Strip.

He added all Arab countries would participate in the conference, indicating that both Arab and Islamic worlds realize the destruction caused by Israeli aggression on the Strip.
