Egypt: Minister – Centers for Exhibitions in All Governorates to Promoting Egyptian Products

Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil announced launching a new strategy for the international exhibitions organization, which includes organizing exhibitions in all governorates with the purpose of promoting the Egyptian products.

Qabil said that the Egyptian industry enjoys all potentials and capabilities to produce high quality products, the matter which allows competing with imported counterparts in the local and foreign markets.

These remarks were made by the minister during the inauguration of 10th session of International exhibition of leather products on Thursday 03/03/2016.

Minister Qabil urged the Egyptian consumers to buy and prefer the locally-produced products with the purpose of encouraging the Egyptian industry.

For his part, Chairman of Egypt’s Leather Export Council Ahmed Short said the council seeks to increase the sector’s exports to 1.5 billion pounds in 2016. He noted that several delegations from Kenya, Morocco, Kuwait and Russia will arrive in Cairo tomorrow to get acquainted with potentials of leather sector and reach deals with the Egyptian exporters.

Short praised recent measures taken by the Central Bank and the government to regulate imports.
