Egypt: Int’l Coop. Minister, EU Ambassador Reviews Future Cooperation Programs

International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr received on Thursday EU Ambassador to Egypt James Moran and German Ambassador to Cairo Julius Georg Luy.

The minister hailed at her meeting with the EU ambassador the relations between Egypt and the EU, highlighting the EU’s role as a key development partner with Egypt.

She stressed the distinguished historical ties binding Egypt with the EU.

The EU ambassador, for his part, affirmed the continuation of implementing joint cooperation programs with Egypt in the various fields, especially developing slums and supporting the energy and comprehensive economic development sectors.

At her meeting with the German Ambassador, Nasr stressed the importance that Egypt attaches to promoting cooperation with Germany as a key partner at the political, economic, and cultural levels.

She lauded the Egyptian-German workshop that was held on 16 and 17 February 2016, which she said is an important step to discuss joint projects between the two countries.

The two sides also reviewed a number of agreements that are expected to be signed between Egypt and Germany in different fields.
