Egypt eyes further African cooperation with UK — FM

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his British counterpart Dominic Raab probed on Monday 20/1/2020 ways to promote bilateral ties at various levels.

Referring to the UK-Africa Investment Summit, which kicked off earlier today in London, Shoukry said he looks forward to exploring new prospects of cooperation between Africa the United Kingdom, especially under Egypt’s current chairmanship of the African Union.

Shoukry underlined the great importance President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attaches to fostering bilateral cooperation at all levels, hailing the thriving ties between both countries in the recent period, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said.

The two sides also discussed a raft of international as well as regional issues of mutual concern, the spokesman added.
