EGYPT EXTENDS OPENING OF RAFAH CROSSING FOR ANOTHER DAY

Egypt has extended the opening of the Rafah crossing with Gaza Strip, for a seventh day, the Palestinian Borders and Crossings Authority stated.

In a press statement, the authority pointed out that, the Egyptian side has officially apprised the authority, of the decision to extend the opening of the Rafah crossing for another day, to allow more of the stranded travellers to cross the borders from both sides.

Last week, Egypt announced the opening the crossing for six days ending on Saturday, Oct 22, after 40 days of closure.

Meanwhile, Israel on Saturday, beefed up security measures on Palestinian territories, in the West Bank and Gaza.

It also stated that, it would shut down border crossing with Palestinian territories, for two days, in coincidence with a nationwide religious festival.
