Egypt, Cyprus review developments in power linkage project

Electricity and Renewable Energy Minister Mohamed Shaker had talks on Sunday 17/2/2019 with Cypriot Ambassador in Cairo Kharis Moritzis on the latest developments in Egypt’s power linkage project with Cyprus and Greece.

During the meeting, he said the project is vital for realizing power linkage between Egypt and the EU, hailing the efforts exerted by Euro Africa company in this regard.

He said Egypt managed to lay down the cornerstone of the power linkage project.

He added that Egypt seeks also to establish power linkage with its neighbors, including Jordan, Libya, Saudi Arabia and Sudan.

Meanwhile, Moritzis highlighted the importance of furthering bilateral ties, adding that the power linkage project will yield political and economic benefits.
