Egypt condemns terrorist attack near a hotel in central Mogadishu

In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on March 2,2019, the Arab Republic of Egypt condemned the terrorist attack near a hotel in the center of the Somali capital of Mogadishu. Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the attack, which killed about 29 and injured 80 others.

Egypt expressed its sincerest condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery. It stressed that its people and government stand by the people and government of sister Somalia against terrorism. The statement, also, stressed Egypt’s support of efforts to rebuild Somali state institutions and regain security and stability across the country.
