Egypt attaches great importance to women, says sports minister

Youth and Sports Minister and head of the executive bureau of the Arab ministers of youth and sports Ashraf Sobhi asserted that Egypt, under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, attaches great importance to the Egyptian woman and creating suitable atmosphere for her.

The minister made the remarks on Thursday at the opening of the first Arab Women Sport Conference, which is organized in Egypt by the Egyptian sports sociology association (ESSA) in cooperation with the Sports Ministry, under the patronage of President Sisi in the presence of several female sports and artistic figures from a number of Arab countries.

Sobhi asserted that Egypt supports all sports activities and participates in various championships, underlining that Egyptian women have benefited from the sports law and managed to win many sports tournaments.

Sobhi highlighted the programs that the sports ministry implements in cooperation with the bodies concerned to activate the role of women in sports.

He expressed hope that the conference would issue distinguished recommendations to empower women in the sports domain.
