Culture Minister announces details of Sultan Qaboos Prize for Culture, Arts and Literature in its eighth edition

Minister of Culture, Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem, announced the details and conditions of Sultan Qaboos Prize for Culture, Arts and Literature -2019- in its eighth edition in the fields of: – traveling literature, sociology and Arab studies, the prize is organized in cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the cultural institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.

For her part, Abdel-Dayem said that the award aims at supporting the cultural, artistic and literary fields between Egypt and Oman as a way to enhance human communication and it contributes to enrich the movement of scientific development and it consolidates the process of accumulation of knowledge as well as stating the values of originality and innovation among the coming generations by providing a fertile environment based on intellectual competition, it also opens the door for organizing more competitions in the fields of science, knowledge, research and innovation in addition to honoring intellectuals, artists and writers for their contributions to preserve civilization and to renew thoughts and raise the conscience.

Sultan Qaboos Award for Culture, Arts and literature includes an appreciation award offering “Sultan Qaboos Medal for Culture, Science, Arts and literature” to the winner , in addition to 100.000 RO. plus, another prize offering the Medal and 50.000 RO.

The Supreme Council of Culture, headed by Hisham Azmi, hosted the meeting of the eighth Edition of Sultan Qaboos Prize for Culture, Arts and Literature. The ceremonies were attended by Ambassador Ali bin Ahmed Al-Issaie, Ambassador of Oman in Cairo, Dr. Nasser bin Hamad Al-Tai and a number of members of the Awards committee and Egyptian writers, professors of sociology and artists.
