The Chinese-Egyptian trade exchange rose 5.3 percent to reach 5.4 billion dollars in the first five months of 2019, China’s ambassador to Egypt Liao Li Qiang said Wednesday.

The ambassador attributed this to the distinguished strategic ties that Beijing and Cairo have witnessed since the visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to China in 2014.

Addressing audience in a press conference held at the Chinese embassy, the ambassador hailed the bilateral ties between the two countries, saying they have seen on a constant progress as part of the Belt and Road Initiative and Egypt Vision 2030.
