Awqaf Minister: Intensifying ministry’s programs to Africa in 2019

Minister of Awqaf and head of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa has said his ministry decided to intensify religious programs to Africa in 2019 on the occasion of Egypt’s presidency of the African Union.

The minister’s statements came during a meeting of the committee of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, pointing out that a file has been allocated in Menbar Al Islam magazine issued by the council to post the readers on Africa and boost cooperation with it.

Minister Gomaa said many African countries agreed so far to participate in the international competition for the Holy Koran memorization which is organized by the ministry.

The countries which agreed so far to participate in the competition are Algeria, Tunisia, Ghana, Niger, Mali, Guinea Bissau, South Africa, Benin, Sudan, Kenya, Madagascar, Congo, Tanzania, Burundi, Mauritius, Mauritania, South sudan and Central African Republic, he added.
