Archaeological Department: Final preparations made ahead of youth forum in Aswan

Bracing for an upcoming youth forum in Aswan, the Archaeological Department in the Upper Egyptian city has made final preparations for an expected increase in African visits to tourist attractions on March 16-18.

The three-day forum will be held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in Aswan, which has been named capital of African culture and youth in 2019, said director general of Aswan archaeological department Abdel Men’em Saeid on Wednesday 13/3/2019.

The preparations included upgrading archaeological sites, atop of which the Philae Temple and Marina.

Sun shades and public toilets have been set at the temple and weeds removed, Saeid explained.

He added that security stops have also been set up on the site.
