AOUN MEETS DELEGATION OF ARAB DENTAL EXPERTS, URGES POLITICAL CONSENSUS AMONG ARAB COUNTRIES

President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, on Thursday called on Arab countries to thrash out disputed issues by resorting to dialogue, hoping that political reconciliation between these countries will be achieved and money will be spent on science development instead of wars.

President Aoun’s speech came during a meeting with a delegation of Arab dental specialists, including representatives from Syria, Palestine, Iraq, Tunisia, Jordan, Sudan and Egypt.

The President welcomed the delegation in Lebanon, lauding the organization of medical conferences that help boost exchange of expertise and the simultaneous progress of science and humans.

“The success achieved in the medical sectors is the result of the joint efforts of a large group of doctors and countries,” the President said, deeming the meeting in Beirut a sign of confidence in Lebanon.

On another level, Aoun discussed the political situation and the electoral deadline with MP Emile Rahma, who said in the wake of the meeting that he had briefed President Aoun on the ongoing preparations for parliamentary elections.

He also relayed the thankfulness of the people of Baalbek-Hermel region for the attention given by the president to their demands and needs.

President Aoun also received Attorney General, Judge Samir Hamoud, who briefed him on the activities of the public prosecution, especially those of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The pair also discussed the situation of overcrowded prisons in Lebanon.
