ANSAR BAYT AL-MAQDIS CLAIMS RESPONSIBILITY FOR NEW VALLEY ATTACK IN EGYPT

NEW VALLEY, Egypt, July 23 – Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis claimed responsibility for the attack on al-Farafra checkpoint, in New Valley, that left 22 army personnel and border guards dead.

The group claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement on Twitter, MENA reported.

The US lists the group as a terrorist organisation.

Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, claimed responsibility for most of the bloody attacks on police and army personnel, over the past year, including an assassination attempt on the Interior Minister and the bombing of the Daqalia security directorate in 2013.
