Algeria beat Senegal, secure 2nd AFCON title

An early goal netted by Baghdad Bounedjah was enough for Algeria to beat Senegal in the final of 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cairo Friday, securing their second continental title.

Senegal lost in a final for a second time after also failing at this stage in 2002.

Not since 1990 had the Fennec Foxes made it to the AFCON final, beating Nigeria 1-0 on home soil in front of 105,000 fans.
