In a statement released by the Antiquities Ministry on Wednesday, Mostafa added that the Albainian president’s tour started from the Sultan al-Nasir Muhammad ibn Qala’un Mosque inside the citadel, where he expressed admiration of the 14th-century royal mosque which was built by the Mamluk sultan.

Meta as well enjoyed a panoramic view of Cairo that can be seen from the top of the citadel, and toured the National Police Museum where he was briefed on the main and most valuable items being displayed inside and and got acquainted with the variety of weapons used by the Egyptian police throughout the history, Mostafa noted.

After that, Meta visited Mohamed Ali Mosque before going to the nearby Al-Rifa’i Mosque where he enjoyed listening to Islamic hymns performed by Sheikh Saeed el Rifaee, Mostafa said.
