Africa: Egypt Attends Africa Water Distinguishing Centers in Africa

The National Water Research Center has participated in the preparatory meeting for a project to link the water distinguishing centers in Africa, arranged by the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) and the European Union in the South African city of Cape Town, said NWRC Chairman Mohamed Abdel-Moteleb.

He said that the meeting aims to enhance the efficient workers in the field of water resources and data analysis as well as plans to set up an atlas for regional cooperation in the area of water resources.

Meanwhile, Sami Saad, the director of strategic research unit and NWRC’s representative to the meeting, said NWRC has presented the achievements of the first stage of the project that was implemented in the areas of western and southern Africa.

On the other hand, Minister of Water Resources Mohamed Abdel-Aati will discuss bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Uganda, where he started a visit on Monday, in the areas of alleviating the effects of floods as well as resisting water weeds and construction of five dams in the flood areas.
