Africa: Cairo Hosts Elite ‘A’ Referees Course

In view of the upcoming TOTAL Africa Cup of Nations Gabon 2017, the Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) has organized a five-day course for Elite ‘A’ referees to update and refresh their knowledge and skills in the discharge of their abilities.

The course attended by the topmost African Referees and Assistant Referees was held from 24-28 September 2016 in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

The objective was to update the participants on the Laws of the Game as well as evaluate their fitness and technical abilities for upcoming major competitions next year such as TOTAL Africa Cup of Nations Gabon 2017, U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Zambia 2017 and U-17 Africa Cup of Nations Madagascar 2017.

The attendees were taken through the theoretical topics including amendments to the Laws of the Game, Match Analysis as well as engaging in Physical test.

Lim Kee Chong (Mauritius), Neji Jouini (Tunisia), Doue Noumandiez (Cote d’Ivoire), Desire Gahungu (Burundi), Mademba Mbacke (Senegal) and Cherifi Nasreddine (Algeria).

Twenty-three (23) referees and twenty-five (25) assistant referees took part in the five day course.
